Russell Prue: Award Winning Evangelist, Author and Inventor

Russell is an independent ICT Evangelist and Entrepreneur. Using live demonstrations Russell looks at new and existing technologies and suggests new ways that colleagues can take advantage of these in their subject teaching. Russell also provides strategic ICT thinking to a number of key UK education players. He is involved in several action based research projects and is passionate about educational ICT. Russell also produces training resources for teaching colleagues that are sold under the RPC Training Ltd brand.

Russell will be featuring in his keynote amongst other products his latest invention designed to motivate reluctant writers. The cre8txt keyboard is based on the key layout of a mobile phone and so embraces the text skills that young people have developed themselves. Russell will also be showing how he as used SecondLife to setup an office and training room that can serve customers 24 hours a day and how colleagues may like to experiment with this virtual world.

On Friday, 23rd November 2007 this Leading Edge Conference will be taking place.

The staff of the 4 schools in the partnership - Bishop Challoner, Kings Heath Boys, Queensbridge, Wheelers Lane - will be attending the Conference being held at Wheelers Lane School.

The focus of the Conference is ‘Innovation, Creativity and New Technology to Engage’.
